The ceremonial site pieces are inspired by the
clotheslines my mother used in the fifties and sixties morphed into ritual
environments. The drying clothes are replaced with copper, the poles
with wood dowels or plated steel. Objects placed among the uprights are
found objects from travels - a scrap of homework and red tuff from Armenia,
pot shards from Crete, and sacking discarded in Provence. The tiny shed
is inspired by building “cabins” in the woods as a child. Those times
forged an appreciation for primitive shelters and constructions. |
