2010 Shows

In May, Judy won an Award of Distinction for 3-D work at Art on the Green in Lexington, Virginia. The juror was sculptor, Betty Branch.

In July Judy won second place at the WVTF Juried Art Show with Ceremonial Site, Red. The juror was Dela Watkins from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

Two pieces, Block #42 and Block #47 (both copper on panel) have been juried into the Peninsula Fine Arts Center Biennial 2010 in Newport News, Virginia. The juror was sculptor, Richard Hunt. The reception is October 1 and the show runs through January 2, 2011.

Judy’s work has been juried into the Southern Virginia Artisan Center in Martinsville, Virginia.

Judy showed her work with a group of five other women artists, known as JAM (their first initials spell that word – twice) in March 2010 at Piedmont Arts Association in Martinsville, Virginia. The show ran during women’s month and is part of MINDS WIDE OPEN: Virginia Celebrates Women in the Arts.

The show traveled to Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center and was on exhibit June 8th through July 10th.

Grant Award
Judy received a grant from the Arts Council of the Blue Ridge to rent studio space to create large pieces for a group show at Piedmont Arts Association in 2010. She moved into the new space and completed four large pieces for the show.

Pieces of Eight, a 12" x 12" art quilt sold at the 2009 online auction SAQA Studio Art Quilt Associates.

Two mixed media pieces (Work and Day in Provence) were accepted into the 2009 juried holiday show and sale
at Virginia Tech's Perspective Gallery which ran from November 17 to December 13.

Art JAM was held for the second year in Blacksburg October 11.

Show Acceptance
Welcome to Paradise, an art quilt, was accepted into the 2009 National Small Art Quilt Works Exhibition at The Main Street Gallery in Groton, New York. The show ran from July 23 until September 6, 2009. The piece sold during the show.
